11/18/2023 0 Comments Steam charts team fortress 2In the last week since the launch of the Stormfall update, numbers have been up a bit to about 2400 players prior to Stormfall it was logging about 1700 players at peak time. Ok, I’ll immediately admit I had no idea what STO’s playerbase number is, but this really tells the story. Since my blog has a heavy Star Trek Online focus, I’m gonna start with STO, and here is what Steam Charts shows for April 15-May 15, 2022: Of course, the caveat here is that Steam Charts only tracks players logging into games through Steam games like Star Trek Online have other log in options such as Arc and standalone launchers, so Steam Charts only account for a portion of the player numbers for them. I’m sure you have heard of websites like MMO-Population, but today I’m going to focus on Steam Charts. Granted, actual player numbers seem to be a treasured trade secret that no dev/studio is ever willing to share, so we can only rely on certain external metrics to gauge how popular our games are. In this complex construction/management/roguelike simulation, every generated world brings a unique challenge, whether it’s dwarves with their own simulated personalities or aquifers.
